Tim has worked in both the for-profit and nonprofit sectors and has more than 25 years of
experience in fundraising, nonprofit management and direct response marketing. He holds a
Masters of Nonprofit Management (MNO) from Case Western Reserve University, and is one of less
than 100 individuals to hold the Advanced Certified Fund Raising Executive (ACFRE) credential.
Tim's background in the nonprofit sector includes 17 years of experience at the local and
national levels. He's held the position of local Executive Director for the Muscular Dystrophy
Association in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and for the Leukemia Society of America in Cleveland,
Ohio. Nationally, he was a fundraising consultant for American Diabetes Association and the
American Heart Association, and has served as Director of Development Services with the
Epilepsy Foundation. He was Director of Individual Giving at USO World Headquarters, and prior
to his current position at RuffaloCODY, served as the Senior Director of Development for the
National Osteoporosis Foundation. His 12 years of Planned Giving experience includes working
with advisors, developing donor relationships and designing effective Planned Giving marketing
and communications strategies.
Tim has also spent eight years as a direct response fundraising consultant. In addition to
managing multi-million dollar programs, he worked extensively with clients developing innovative
direct response programs targeted to major and Planned Giving donors.
Tim currently serves as a board member and past president of the Mandel Center Alumni Association
at Case Western Reserve University. He has also devoted time to his community and profession, as
past board member of Greater DC chapter, AFP, and as current member of the AFP national
Professional Education committee. Tim is also active in DMA and the National Capital Gift
Planning Council in Washington, DC. He is an AFP Certified Instructor and a seasoned lecturer
and author on fundraising and nonprofit management.
