Mike Volan joined RuffaloCODY in March 2010 as Vice President and Senior Consultant. With more than 25 years of fundraising experience – more than half of which is in the higher education field – his extensive knowledge and big picture perspective is an asset to the MASTERS and nonprofit clients that he serves in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin. Mike has extensive experience in all aspects of development; including personal solicitation, phonathon, direct mail, leadership annual gift programs, major and principal gifts, data analysis, campaign planning/preparation and program development/management.

Prior to joining RuffaloCODY, he served as Senior Director of Development for the McMicken College of Arts & Sciences at the University of Cincinnati (UC), where he led a comprehensive development and alumni program for UC’s largest college. Mike also served as Director of Development for UC’s College of Law. As the Director of Annual Giving for the UC Foundation, Mike brought RuffaloCODY’s MASTERS program to the University of Cincinnati in 2003.

In addition, Mike’s experiences with the Athenaeum of Ohio and the Boy Scouts of America offer a well-rounded understanding of nonprofit organizations both inside and outside of the education field. A graduate of University of Cincinnati, Mike has served on the board of the local chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) and is an active volunteer with the Boy Scouts and other school and community organizations. Mike and his family reside in Cincinnati, Ohio.
