RuffaloCODY welcomed Maureen Hammett to its staff in July 2006 as Vice President & Senior Consultant for the MASTERS Division in the Northeast. Maureen uses her extensive experience to help organizations with their efforts in all aspects of fundraising. In 2011, Maureen was promoted to the new position of Senior Vice President and Senior Consultant within the MASTERS division. In that role, she has five RuffaloCODY team members reporting to her in sales, marketing and operations.
Prior to joining RuffaloCODY, Maureen was Associate Vice President for Annual Giving, Donor & Research Services at the University at Buffalo (UB), and was a MASTERS client at UB since 2002. Having worked with RuffaloCODY as a client, Maureen offers unique insights into the comprehensive services offered through the MASTERS division.
With 13+ years experience in higher education administration/management (and 9+ years of experience in university advancement), Maureen brings a wealth of expertise and practical know-how to the table when working with clients. At UB, she was responsible for the oversight of an integrated annual fund (coordinating efforts among 12 professional schools, the College of Arts & Sciences, and multiple units), soliciting both unrestricted and restricted gifts for university wide and school based appeals using a mix of direct mail, phone-based solicitations, and e-solicitations. Maureen also directed the efforts of the offices of Prospect Research & Development and Donor Relations & Stewardship.
Maureen began her fundraising career at UB in 1997 as part of the Donor Relations and Stewardship team. Prior to joining the advancement team, she was a Senior Admissions Advisor for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at UB, and started out her career as an elementary teacher.
Maureen resides in Buffalo, NY. She has two Master’s degrees: one in Student Personnel Administration and another in Elementary Education, and has been a CASE member since 1997.
