Habitat for Humanity House
RuffaloCODY Employees Donate a Day’s Work to Habitat for Humanity House in New Orleans
A dozen employees from RuffaloCODY’s MASTERS Program for On-campus Phonathon Management division traded their Blackberries and laptop computers for claw hammers and tape measures on January 18, when they donated a day’s labor to help build a Habitat for Humanity Home in hurricane and flood-ravaged New Orleans, LA. According to Vice President of Operations Joe Marruchella, the work crew reported at 7:45 a.m. and helped measure and install siding on the Habitat house. “It was a tough work day, but almost everyone was disappointed we couldn’t stay longer and finish the tasks we were doing at the end of the day,” said Marruchella, who estimated that the RuffaloCODY crew finished siding about 30% of the house with assistance from a team of students from Wellesley College.
“The entire RuffaloCODY group worked closely as a team, with all titles and ‘boss vs. staff’ work relationships put aside,” Marruchella added. “Plus, no one was hurt, and everyone had a great time.”
Marruchella said the biggest challenge of the day for the intrepid group of office dwellers was trying to open the on-site storage trailer to put away their tools and equipment after the shift ended. “After about 15 minutes of fighting with the trailer door, we finally got help with that task, and then it was smooth sailing,” he said.
RuffaloCODY’s Chris Bingley is Named a CASE ‘Stellar Speaker’
RuffaloCODY Vice President and Senior Consultant Chris Bingley has been named a ‘Stellar Speaker’ by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) for his presentation in May 2010 at the CASE Senior Annual Giving Conference in Phoenix, AZ. ‘Stellar Speaker’ status recognizes presenters who are in the top echelon of all CASE faculty in the areas of subject matter knowledge, presentation skills and ability to respond to questions from the audience. The award is based upon highly favorable evaluation feedback from conference participants, and was announced in the October 2010 edition of CASE Currents magazine. Chris joined RuffaloCODY in January 2009, and represents MASTERS On-campus Phonathon Management clients in the Great Plains states from Texas to Canada.
Chris is one of only three people to receive the ‘Stellar Speaker’ recognition at the CASE Senior Annual Giving Conference – the other two are Beth Braxton, director of annual giving at UNC-Chapel Hill; and Brian Kish, senior vice president, Central Development at the University of Arizona. Both institutions are RuffaloCODY MASTERS clients.
